How to Make an AI Dance Video From One Photo

Updated 2026-10-13

On this page

To make an AI dance video from one photo, upload a clear full-body photo of yourself, pick a dance, sign in at Make, pay for one video and wait 3–6 minutes. You get a private link to your video by email. You do not need an app or a prompt, and you can choose the dance and add your photo before you sign in.

The AI makes a new video of the whole person from your photo. The moves come from the dance you pick. This guide shows each step, the photo rules that matter most, and what it costs at Effect Farm.

Key facts

  • Input: one photo of you. You must be 18 or older.
  • Time: usually 3–6 minutes. You can close the page and wait for the email.
  • Price: one video costs 30 credits. The smallest pack is 30 credits for $4.99.
  • Output: MP4 video at 720p. Most templates are vertical 9:16. Each template page shows its length.
  • Model: our templates run on Seedance, a video model from ByteDance. We do not name the version.
  • Upload first: sign in at Make. Your credits belong to your verified account email.
  • Last checked: October 13, 2026.

The fastest way, in six steps

  1. Open a template page. Start with Make Picture Dance if you want to pick a dance. Start with Genjutsu AI if you want your photo to copy one of our dances.
  2. Upload one clear photo of yourself. Use a full-body photo if the dance moves the whole body.
  3. Preview the example videos. Each template page shows examples, so you know what the dance looks like.
  4. Confirm the photo. You confirm that the photo shows you and that you are 18 or older.
  5. Pay for one video. One video costs 30 credits. Pay by card or PayPal.
  6. Open your private link. We email it when the video is ready. Download the file from the link.

What you need before you start

The right photo

The photo decides the result. Use these checks:

  • One person. The person in the photo must be you.
  • Full body for full-body dances. Show your feet in the frame. A cropped photo can leave out parts of the dance.
  • Face the camera. Stand straight with your arms away from your body.
  • Even light. Avoid hard shadows and strong back light.
  • Plain background. A clean wall works better than a crowd.
  • No text or logos on clothes you care about. ByteDance lists text on screen as a weak spot of Seedance 2.0 [1].
  • High quality. Use the original file, not a screenshot.

The right dance

Match the dance to your photo. A dance that moves the legs needs a photo that shows legs. A close-up photo suits a reaction clip better.

Why one photo is enough

An AI video model such as Seedance can start a clip from one image. ByteDance describes Seedance 2.0 as a model that takes text, image, audio and video inputs and makes video with sound [1] [2]. In a template, the dance is already set. Your photo supplies how you look.

The model does not copy the original dance clip. It makes a new video of the person in your photo. Details such as hands, clothes and small face features can change, so look at the result before you share it.

The model itself can make longer clips. ByteDance lists up to 15 seconds for Seedance 2.0 and up to 30 seconds for Seedance 2.5 [1] [3]. A template sets its own length. The page of each template shows it, so you know what you buy before you pay.

How to make an AI dance video: three ways

If you want the prompt route, the Seedance prompt guide has seven patterns and copy-ready examples for one photo and motion.

Tips for a better result

  1. Use your best photo, not your newest. A sharp, well-lit photo beats a recent blurry one.
  2. Pick a dance that fits the framing. Check the example videos before you pay.
  3. Keep the outfit simple. Plain clothes are easier for the model than busy patterns.
  4. Try a second dance with the same photo. The same photo can look different in a different dance. Each video costs 30 credits.
  5. Check hands and feet. If they look wrong, try a photo that shows them clearly.
  6. Share with care. Tell people the video is AI-made.

Ideas for your dance video

  • A reaction clip. Use the puzzled look of Jawn Dance AI as a reply when a chat takes an unexpected turn.
  • A small-win celebration. Make a short dance for finishing a task or hearing good news.
  • An outfit in motion. Try a familiar outfit in a dance. Clothes and small face details can change, so check the result before you share it.
  • A dance comparison. Make the same photo dance in two templates and compare them.

Common mistakes

  • A cropped photo for a full-body dance. The model has to invent the legs.
  • A photo of someone else. The person in the photo must be you. Effect Farm does not make videos of other people.
  • A group photo. Use a photo with one person. ByteDance lists consistency across several subjects as a weak spot [1].
  • A dark or blurry photo. The face and hands can break.
  • Expecting a copy of a viral clip. Our videos are new. They share the idea of a trend, not the original footage.

What does it cost?

One video costs 30 credits. You buy credits in one-time packs:

30 credits (≈ 1 video) $4.99, 100 credits (≈ 3 videos) $12.90, 300 credits (≈ 10 videos) $29.90 and 1000 credits (≈ 33 videos) $79.90.

Pack credits never expire. You do not need a subscription. A failed video gives its credit back automatically. Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of the purchase. See pricing for the current packs.

How safe is it?

Your uploads are deleted within 7 days. We do not use your files to train models. An automated check scans each upload and each result. Read the AI models page to see which models make and check your video, and the Acceptable Use Policy for the rules.

Which model makes the video?

Effect Farm is an independent site at effectfarm.com. We are not part of ByteDance. Our templates run on Seedance. We do not say which version. If you want to compare Seedance with other video models, read Seedance vs Kling vs Veo.
